では、残りの２万７千人は誰が助けたのか？

地域の住人の人たちです。

みんな被災者なんです。

みんな忙しいどころではなかった人たちです。

余震の恐怖におびえながら、傾いた家に飛び込んでいったのは、なんの訓練も受けていない普通の人たちです。

自分はあの地震でたった一つだけよかったと思えたことがあります。

それは、「人間はいざとなれば本能として助け合い、支え合うものだ」という実例をみれたことです。

あの状況で人に迷惑をかけられず生きることなんて出来はしない。

あの状況で恐れるべきことは、「人に迷惑をかける」ことでなく「人の迷惑を受け止められない」ことを恐れるべきだと私は思います。
